The enclosed research data which we have completed, concerning your therapeutic
orthotic, 'FLEXTEND', has proven favorable in the treatment of patients,
who present with carpal tunnel syndrome, epicondylitis and tendonitis.
Our clinical parameters in testing this orthotic was
both occupational and non-occupational incidence.
The outcome of 20 female and 16 male, were 80.2% for
pain reduction following 15 treatments. The overall population resulted
in 74.9% complete recovery. The treatment was in combination with an adjunct
of ultrasound and sine wave.

OBJECTIVE:
To evaluate the effectiveness of the FLEXTEND Orthotic glove in the treatment
of carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis and epicondylitis pathological
disorders.
ABSTRACT:
The study of contributing factors in the development exacerbation and
treatment of musculoskeletal disorders of the upper extremities in both
occupations and non-occupational settings.
CLINICAL FEATURES:
Upon examination of cases presented, patients suffered signs and symptom
characteristic of carpal tunnel syndrome, tendonitis and epicondylitis.
Magnetic resonance imaging and nerve conduction velocity testing confirmed
the diagnosis of each case.
INTERVENTION:
The FLEXTEND Glove is a constructed glove with tubular attachments on
the five finger inserts, that attach to a circular band that is placed
around the bicep as an anchor When utilization of both agonist -antagonist
interact, it causes a needed balance between the flexors and extensors
of the fingers and wrist, that allows the weak counterpart no resistance
and subsequently becoming stronger to perform the action without pain.
The treatment methods utilizing the FLEXTEND glove; requires a treatment
outline and clinical decision based on each patient's circumstances and
evaluation of symptoms, examination findings and imaging analysis. The
treatment will require physical therapeutic measures to reduce inflammation
and acute or exacerbated pain. Ultrasound and since wave in combination,
offers great benefits and the patient relates to the rapid, deep penetration
and stimulation.
CONSLUSION:
The FLEXTEND glove has demonstrated that balance, strength and stability
is the cornerstone of upper extremity treatment results. There must be
a three stage treatment objective. Orthotic therapy, rehabilitative exercise
and prophylactic management. This is essential in restoring structural
and functional integrity.
