Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

The signs and symptoms most often associated with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) include feeling a sharp pain and/or general ache on the front side of the hands and wrists, tingling, numbness or paresthesia (Pins & needles) affecting the thumb, index, middle and half of the ring finger and a decrease in hand strength, pain, aching, swelling, with diminished coordination of the hands.

Most cases of CTS result from overuse of the finger flexors and finger adductor muscles in unidirectional movement patterns, (Gripping, squeezing, typing, etc.) These activities create a muscle imbalance by making the flexors/adductors stronger, shorter and tighter than the extensor muscles, causing the flexor muscles to impinge the underlying soft-tissue structures, including blood vessels and the median nerve.

Performing corrective exercises with FLEXTEND® / RESTORE™ returns the muscle length and strength to normal by equalizing the ratio between the opposing muscles. It is very simple and effective therapy, taking just minutes per day.
